New agriculture research agenda for Europe to be announced July 5th Strasbourg
 
For the first time, farmers, industry and science have jointly developed a new research agenda setting out what type of farming we want to have in 20 years time and what kind of reearch is needed to get there.  The new European agricultural research agenda will be announced  next Tuesday July 5th in Strasbourg  by  Commissioner Potocnik, EU Research Commissioner.

Invitation to the Press Conference - Plants for the future - a new research agenda for plant biotechnology in Europe
 
What research will Europe need to increase competitiveness of agri-food, forestry and related industries?

Over the last year scientists and experts have set out a research agenda to meet this need.  The "Plants for the Future" research agenda will be be unveiled on July 5th during a Press Conference at the Hilton Strasbourg from 10:30 to 11:30am (9:30 to 10:30am UK TIME); this will also be web cast live from www.europabio.org

There will be key-note addresses from Commissioner Potočnik, Commissioner for Science and Research and Mr. Giles Chichester MEP, Chairman Committee on Industry, Research and Energy, and personalities from industry, research and agriculture.  One to one interviews can be arranged from 11:30 to 12:30pm.
