Working
groups information

|
The main purpose of the Working Groups is to propose actions and policies which
EuropaBio should adopt to ensure that biotech makes the maximum contribution to
the European knowledge-based ecomony, the well-being of Europe's citizens and
the competitiveness of the region. The Working Groups report to the different
Councils and the Councils
report to the EuropaBio
Board.
The EuropaBio staff relies on the input of its members. Both corporate
and national associations are represented and are actively involved
in various working groups and operational units.
The active participation of staff from member companies and associations,
the input of their know-how and expertise have resulted in a lean
and pro-active organisation. Working Groups and Task Forces deal
with issues such as gene therapy, orphan drugs, BioEthics, Competitiveness,
Intellectual Property, Biodiversity and Regulatory Issues.
If specific
interests or issues require special attention, financially autonomous
operational units can be created. The members
of each operational unit can propose the dissolution of the unit
to the Board, when the issues have been resolved.
