Healthcare Council/Red Biotechnology

The Healthcare council includes 49 corporate members and 19 national associations who are involved in healthcare projects and healthcare applications of biotechnology and who work to raise awareness of the contribution that biotechnology is making to healthcare in Europe.

The mission of the Healthcare council is to promote research and innovation into areas such as personalised medicine, rare diseases and OMPs.  The Council aims to strengthen the legal and policy framework and financial regulation at EU and Member State levels through political outreach with corporate members and the national associations.  Above all, the healthcare council sets out to improve patient safety and access to medicine in the EU and ensure that patients are involved in healthcare decision making and sharing responsibility for their own treatment.
