Biotechnology is defined as the application of science and technology to living organisms, as well as their parts, products and models, to alter living or non-living materials, for the production of knowledge, goods and services. (...)
The challenges in agriculture are related on the one hand, to the need to feed the world's growing population, and on the other hand to changes in eating habits, including populations of developing countries (China, India, Brazil ... ). In this context, it is necessary to increase crop yields while taking into account the preservation of the environment.
