GMOs: a debate to resume

In Europe, genetically modified organisms (GMOs) for agriculture are almost taboo. On only two varieties grown in the European Union, potato Amflora BASF for the paper industry, and Monsanto MON810 maize, one is in a situation of market failure, the other faces moratoria imposed by many governments under the pressure of public opinion.
