The perpetual return of the GMO dispute

The French edition of the Huffington Post published an article by Jean-Paul Oury on the "everlasting GMO debate" in Europe, while at the same time GM crops are being increasingly adopted worldwide.The "dramatized" danger of GMOs creates blockage of the GM technology that is based on ideological concerns rather than on actual health risks. This is despite the fact that the EU has the most stringent laws on assessing a dossier for approval.
As an example, Poland was a country where people did not care about GM food before organised protests tried to show potential hazards. The media coverage and the well-oiled mechanics of campaigners pushed the government to stop the cultivation of maize and potatos in order to calm the Polish citizens.
