Are GM crops only planted by ‘big’ farmers?

No. 90% of farmers planting GM crops are small resource-poor farmers in developing countries. Since 1996, GM technology has helped alleviate poverty by helping 16.5 million small farmers, and their families totalling over 65 million people, who are some of the poorest people in the world. The biggest group are cotton farmers in India and China.
