SUMMARY:Advancing bio-based innovations in the food industry: Focus on fermentation
DESCRIPTION:Join our Director General Dr Claire Skentelbery on the 12th of November in Brussels where she will be speaking at the DG GROW hosted hybrid workshop “Advancing bio-based innovations in the food industry: Focus on fermentation”. \n\n\n\nThe workshop will focus on the industrial applications of fermentation technologies by highlighting SMEs that are using biomass\, precision and gas fermentation. Their innovative technologies will be presented\, along with ways to promote scaling up production. These presentations will be followed by a Q&A session. \n\n\n\nAfter these industry insights\, a panel of experts will discuss topics such as research and innovation\, infrastructure\, the role of farmers\, public acceptance\, market development\, and profitability and pricing. SUMMARY:SME roundtable: Towards globally competitive European SMEs
DESCRIPTION:Europe is home to a vibrant community of Biotechnology SMEs contributing to the modernisation of the European industry. European biotechnology SMEs are the main drivers for innovation in healthcare\, food and feed\, industrial processes and manufacturing. \n\n\n\nThe Initiative on “Boosting Biotechnology and Biomanufacturing in the EU” published by the European Commission in March 2024 provides great prospects for EU SMEs. It highlights the EU ambition to deliver the benefits of biotechnology to support EU competitiveness and innovation alongside other global regions. One objective of the initiative is to identify ways to streamline EU legislation and its implementation to reduce Single Market fragmentation\, explore potential simplification of regulatory processes\, and shortening the time to market of biotechnological innovations. \n\n\n\nIn order to meet this objective\, EuropaBio\, the voice of biotechnology industries in Europe\, will be hosting this roundtable to work as partners with all relevant stakeholders to guarantee the success of this Initiative. This roundtable session aims to provide a discussion forum for SME participants active in the sector to share their main driving forces and obstacles to accessing global markets and supply chains. DESCRIPTION:Organized by AseBio\, the Spanish Bioindustry Association\, and Sodena the financial agent of the Government of Navarra\, the 5th edition of the AseBio Green Innovation Forum will be held in the Baluarte convention centerof Pamplona on November 19\, 2024. The event will showcase the opportunities that biotechnology can offer as a key tool in the transition towards a more sustainable\, carbon neutral and greener economic model.  The Green Innovation Forum is also firmly committed to achieving the objectives set out in the 2030 Agenda and the European Green Deal. The AseBio Green Innovation Forum will have an agenda of round tables and business meetings in which to address the most relevant aspects of innovation in biotechnology and the green economy.
