NEWS RELEASE

Brussels, 24 May 2023 - EuropaBio is pleased to announce that SwedenBIO has joined as a National Association Council (NAC) member.

SwedenBio is the leading national non-profit association for the life science industry in Sweden. It represents companies across the entire spectrum of the life science sector, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical technology, and diagnostics. With a focus on promoting success and growth, SwedenBIO works towards fostering a thriving environment for the entire Swedish life science industry, supported by an innovative sector, strong academia, and world-leading research infrastructure.

EuropaBio Director-General Dr. Claire Skentelbery welcomed SwedenBio to the association: “SwedenBIO is a critical national voice for biotechnology and we are delighted to have them as part of our growing National Associations Council. The Swedish Presidency is fully reflected in our own work in supporting the biotech ecosystem, with a formal handover to Spain in our NAC Presidency Summit on June 22.”

Jessica Martinsson, CEO & Director General of SwedenBIO added: “As a part of a truly global industry, maintaining a strong network with our European counterparts is important to continue to sustain Swedish and European innovation.”
