USA, March 2023 - Department of Defense Biomanufacturing Strategy follows the Executive Order on Advancing Biotechnology and Biomanufacturing Innovation for a Sustainable, Safe, and Secure American Bioeconomy.

The document structures the strategy around three core pillars: "establish a Department of Defense transition partners for biotechnology, innovate in biomanufacturing and map and measure the biomanufacturing ecosystem" to create an infrastructure capable of closing the gap in the ability to scale-up biomanufacturing from laboratory research to commercial-scale production.
