Biomanufacturing Manager

EuropaBio, the voice of Europe’s dynamic biotechnology industry, is expanding its activities to create a Biomanufacturing Platform, and seeks a motivated Biomanufacturing Manager to join the EuropaBio Team with a two-year contract.

It is an opportunity to help define and grow the role in this new activity within EuropaBio, with the aim to confirm biomanufacturing as a key economic activity within Europe and ensure competitiveness in a fast moving global landscape. The successful applicant will be able to develop, lead and grow the platform, working closely with the EuropaBio team and Members.

The role will be closely integrated across existing EuropaBio activities, and the successful candidate will be supported by all teams to help represent EuropaBio priorities within a biomanufacturing context.

The successful candidate:
- Must have full permission to work in Belgium
- Must have a very high standard of both written and spoken English (office language)
- Must have experience of the biotechnology sector, ideally linked to bioprocessing in a relevant sector and with an understanding of the full production pathway from a commercial perspective
- Should have strong project management and analytical skills
- Should be able to mobilise and work across EU institutions, stakeholders and frameworks to deliver activities
- Must be able to liaise across teams and work collaboratively, with strong networking and inter-personal capability
- Should have an interest in developing a team and expanding EuropaBio strategy and membership linked to biomanufacturing
- Should have an interest in the EU decision-making process linked to biotechnology and manufacturing
- Should be able to produce work of a high standard, to use initiative and to regularly report on progress
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be able to begin in October 2022

- Lead the development and delivery of ‘Biomanufacturing’ platform within EuropaBio
- Work with EuropaBio members to establish priorities, mechanisms and outcomes for such a platform, with the aim to develop a new high profile activity within EuropaBio
- Manage and deliver activities within a biomanufacturing platform, interfaced with healthcare and industrial biotechnology Council activities in EuropaBio, including advocacy, skills development, networking, innovation pathways, infrastructure and commercial landscape
- Interface with the National Associations Council (including SME BioForum) for mobilisation at national levels
- Integrate the Biomanufacturing Platform into EuropaBio’s annual EFIB (efibforum.com) event
- Develop membership growth strategy linked to the biomanufacturing platform in collaboration with the EuropaBio management team
- Support management of a growing EuropaBio team, including recruitment to the biomanufacturing platform
- Work with the Communications Team to ensure high impact delivery of biomanufacturing campaign and representation by EuropaBio across teams
- Help plan and implement budgets for the Platform over the two year contract with a view to long term operation and sustainability
- Monitor and assess impact of biomanufacturing platform for EuropaBio and work towards long term growth.

Terms and conditions
A two-year contract (CDD), 40 hours/week
In addition to 20 legal holidays (pro-rated according to Belgian system), 12 RTT days and end-of-year closing
