Interview with Maire Geoghegan-Quinn, Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science addresses delegates at EFIB 2012 on the Future of the Bioeconomy in Europe.
The 5th annual European Forum for Industrial Biotechnology (EFIB) took place in Dusseldorf on 17th & 18th October. This year saw the biggest and most successful forum to date where 450+ attendees heard from 60+ speakers and 20+ exhibitors involved in all aspects of the bioeoconomy value chain from academia, policy, biotech clusters, business including SMEs and industrial end users. This year’s event hosted a lively CEO panel debate as well as 1 to 1 partnering events dedicated to building a personal event experience & networking agenda. Also during the event C-LECTA became the first winner of the John Sime innovation award in memory of former EFIB advisory board member and Deputy Director, Biosciences KTN, Dr John Sime who sadly passed away earlier this year. Next year’s forum will take place from 1st – 3rd October at The Square, Brussels
