About the Council
EuropaBio's National Associations Council (NAC) is Europe's largest network of national and regional biotechnology associations. It brings together 25 members from across the continent. It represents all biotech sectors and their colours, company sizes, and stages of development.
The group's mission is to support, promote and scale biotech innovation across Europe.
How? It does this by running public campaigns to explain biotech's daily role in people's lives (including through the European Biotech Week). It engages with national and EU policymakers to keep biotech high on the political agenda. It draws on the experiences of innovators to draft practical policy proposals. And it advocates for a globally competitive sector that can contribute to a more sustainable, healthier, and prosperous Europe.
At the global level, EuropaBio and NAC members take part in the International Council of Biotechnology Associations (ICBA), ensuring coordination beyond Europe.
