About the Council
The National Associations Council (NAC) is the main network for national and regional biotechnology associations in Europe. The Council has over 20 member associations representing all sectors of Europe's biotechnology landscape and company maturity. The Council has the mission to support biotechnology innovation. It promotes and educates the general audience about biotechnology, advances it in the European and national policy agenda, and advocates for a globally competitive sector that can deliver a sustainable, green and healthy Europe.
Council activities throughout the year include:
- flagship events, including Council Presidency of the EU Summits,
- three Council meetings plus monthly Policy Working Group meetings for intelligence sharing and advocacy alignment,
- external engagements with European and national policymakers, regulators and key opinion leaders,
- publication of policy positions, papers, reports and consultation responses,
- communication and awareness campaigns, including European Biotech Week.
EuropaBio networks and represents its national and regional association members at the European and global levels, including through the International Council of Biotechnology Associations (ICBA).
