Bio-based and Biodegradable Industries Association (BBIA) joins EuropaBio: Supporting the bio-based economy

Brussels, 4 June 2026 - EuropaBio welcomes the Bio-based and Biodegradable Industries Association (BBIA) as its newest associate member.
The Bio-based and Biodegradable Industries Association (BBIA) is a trade association representing the bio-based sector, focused on accelerating the adoption of bio-based, and biodegradable chemicals and materials to support a sustainable circular economy.
BBIA aims to contribute its expertise to support the development and growth of the bio-based economy in Europe.
In joining EuropaBio, BBIA seeks to strengthen connections with European stakeholders and collaborate with others championing the bioeconomy.
Dr. Claire Skentelbery, Director General of EuropaBio, said: “The BBIA represents the diversity of what a biotech-driven economy looks like, and we are delighted to bring their voice, and that of their members, into a critical European discussion.”
