Canada: Biomanufacturing and Life Sciences Strategy

28/07/2021

POLICY DOCUMENT

Canada, July 2023 - Canada's Biomanufacturing and Life Sciences Strategy got momentum during the fight against COVID-19 pandemic, in which the country realised "the importance of a resilient and innovative biomanufacturing and life sciences sector". It therefore has a clear focus on the health sector and aims to "guide us to a future in which Canadian innovation leads in preventing, treating and curing all kinds of illness and disease".

The five priorities areas are as follows: (1) Strong and Coordinated Governance; (2) Laying a Solid Foundation by Strengthening Research Systems and the Talent Pipeline; (3) Growing Businesses by Doubling Down on Existing and Emerging Areas of Strength; (4) Building Public Capacity; and (5) Enabling Innovation by Ensuring World Class Regulation.
