From legislation to impact for Europe

Biomanufacturing lies at the heart of Europe’s future societal and entrepreneurial strength and is changing the business landscape for both emerging innovators and established industry champions.

EuropaBio’s 4^th Biomanufacturing Policy Summit will focus on how legislation delivers impact within a proactive Biomanufacturing strategy, and how we establish EU targets for outcomes. It will also showcase the 2026 update of the EuropaBio WIfoR study ‘Measuring the Economic Footprint of the Biotechnology Industry in the European Union’ prior to full report launch in September.

The prize is globally competitive multi-sector biomanufacturing, keeping pace with industrial transition in major global regions and securing Europe’s supply chains, healthcare future, decarbonisation and economic resilience.

This meeting will bring together EuropaBio Members, representatives of key sectors, plus national and EU stakeholders across institutions.

Vitamin B2

Clothes made from alternative fibres produced by microorganisms can be 8x stronger than steel, 100% recyclable, biodegradable and replace fossil-fuel based or resource-intensive textiles.

Algal Omega 3

Algal Omega-3 is an innovative feed product for aquaculture. It reduces the impact on climate change by 30-40% compared to fish oil and saves 60 tons of wild fish for every ton of Algal Omega-3 used.

Cheese

Cheese is a vegetarian product thanks to biotechnology. Biotechnology is also essential to produce lactose- or cholesterol-free cheese, as well as alternative proteins.
