Europe’s Biotechnology & Biomanufacturing Future

1 October @ 5:00 pm 8:00 pm CEST

Biotechnology is a critical technology for global economic security, health and sustainability.

Europe’s world-leading research is translated into medicines, food and next generation biomanufacturing across sectors in all European regions, with employment, skills and economic growth as part of a more sustainable, healthy, autonomous and competitive Europe.

The importance of biotechnology to Europe is now recognised through multiple actions. The European Commission Initiative “Boosting Biotechnology and Biomanufacturing in the EU” highlights the EU ambition to deliver biotechnology for competitiveness and societal impact alongside fast moving global regions, whilst the Letta report highlights its significance within a well-functioning single market. It is amplified further through its specific inclusion in legislations such as STEP and the Net Zero Industry Act.

EuropaBio, the voice of biotechnology industries in Europe, will be hosting this reception to explore how biotechnology is used across sectors. Invited guests will meet the European innovators that deliver and use biotechnology and understand how it benefits the quality of life of all EU citizens.

Innovative companies plus national and regional biotechnology associations will share their knowledge, and guests will network across EU Institutions and other key stakeholders to discover how the European Union builds the future of biotechnology.
