Germany’s largest biotech event, the German Biotechnology Days 2023 (Deutsche Biotechnologietage, DBT), will take place on March 28th and 29th in Wiesbaden. The event is the national forum for the German biotechnology industry. The DBT brings together entrepreneurs with scientists and partners from politics, funding institutions and administration. The two-day program highlights the diverse fields of application and the potential of biotechnology, from health research to the bioeconomy.
The German Biotechnology Days are jointly organised by BIO Deutschland and the Council of German BioRegions. The host region for 2023 is Technologieland Hessen from Wiesbaden, and we were able to win Infectognostics Forschungscampus Jena as another partner region.

The biomanufacturing of Vitamin B2 led to the reduction of 75% of fossil raw materials and 50% operating costs, compared to the chemical process. Vitamin B2 is used in the food, feed or healthcare sectors.
Enzymes and biosurfactancts are alternative ingredients that improve the performance of detergents, while leading to water and energy savings and reductions in CO2 emissions and water toxicity.
Insulin is one of the most widely known biopharmaceutical. Biotechnology revolutionised its manufacturing process and led to the development of new types of insulin through r-DNA technology.
