Meatable joins EuropaBio: together towards a more sustainable food industry
Brussels, 12 May 2021 – EuropaBio is pleased to announce that Meatable has joined the organization as an associate member. Founded in Delft in 2018, Meatable is revolutionising the meat industry's impact on climate change and animal welfare, by making “100% real, delicious, guilt-free meat”. Meatable is pioneering a way to make meat without the need to harm animals or the planet. They do this by taking an animal-friendly sample and mimicking the natural process of fat and muscle growth, reducing resources use and avoiding the negative footprint on environment and animal health.
EuropaBio Director-General Dr Claire Skentelbery says “I am proud to have such an innovative company onboard. We look forward to working together for the development and success of the European biotechnology sector. EuropaBio has a long track record of supporting sustainability and innovation in food and feed, and we will support Meatable on a global stage”.
“These are exciting times that we live in and we are thrilled to join EuropaBio and its members in the journey towards a more sustainable future. We share the vision that biotechnology can help solve some of the world's largest challenges. And we are proud of our role in helping to feed the world in a more sustainable and efficient way”, says Krijn de Nood, Meatable Co-Founder and CEO.
