Slovenia Biotech Hills joins EuropaBio: Elevating Slovenia’s Biotech Ecosystem in Europe

Brussels, 5 December 2025 – EuropaBio is delighted to welcome Biotech Hills as its newest member, strengthening Slovenia’s voice in the European biotechnology landscape.
Founded in 2024 by leading partners Novartis, Sandoz/Lek, Labena, AmCham Slovenia, and Herman & Partners, Biotech Hills serves as a dynamic business platform dedicated to positioning Slovenia on the global map of biotechnological and pharmaceutical innovation. The institute focuses on building a comprehensive ecosystem that will, with the support of governmental structures and strategic partnerships – currently they have over 30 partners, attract investment, foster development and production, and promote education in biotechnology.
Biotech Hills aims to boost Slovenia’s competitiveness and establish itself as Europe’s number one hub for innovative collaboration. Already engaged with the OECD on the future of biotechnology, the institute seeks to contribute to EU-level initiatives such as the Biotech Act and actively participate in EuropaBio committees and events. Its strong pharmaceutical heritage and growing biotech sector offer valuable insights and opportunities for collaboration across Europe.
By joining EuropaBio, Biotech Hills will share expertise on Slovenia’s biotech and pharmaceutical environment, facilitate knowledge transfer, and provide access to government, research institutions, and universities. The institute is committed to supporting legislative processes and strengthening connections among European biotech ecosystems to enhance competitiveness and strategic autonomy.
