Biomanufacturing Platform Intern

Biotechnology is at the forefront of transformative, cutting-edge and research-intensive scientific advancement. Enabling wide-scale societal change, biotechnology underpins technology to address unmet medical needs and provide sustainable, resource-efficient, climate-friendly products and processes.

EuropaBio, the voice of Europe’s dynamic biotechnology industry, is expanding its activities to create a Biomanufacturing Platform and seeks a motivated intern for a period of 6 months.

It is an opportunity to help define and grow the role in this new activity within EuropaBio, with the aim to confirm biomanufacturing as a key economic activity within Europe and ensure competitiveness in a fast moving global landscape. The successful applicant will be working with a Biomanufacturing Manager and working closely with the EuropaBio team and Members.

The role will be closely integrated across existing EuropaBio activities, and the successful candidate will be supported by all teams to help represent EuropaBio priorities within a biomanufacturing context.

This internship will provide valuable insights, contacts and experience for candidates interested in biotechnology and biomanufacturing across both the healthcare and industrial biotech sectors.

The successful candidate:
- Must have full permission to work in Belgium
- Graduated in EU affairs and/or law or other area relevant to Industrial Biotechnology
- Should possess a good understanding of the EU decision-making process
- Must have a very high standard of both written and spoken English (EuropaBio working language)
- Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
- Professional attitude, strong team player and ability to work collaboratively
- Reliable, well-organised and eager to learn
- Should be able to produce work of a high standard, to use initiative and to regularly report on progress
- Must NOT have already completed an ‘immersion professionelle’ or have already undertaken full time professional employment
- Ability to begin internship in October 2022

During the 6-month period, the intern will be asked to assist with a range of tasks. These may include requests to:
- Help monitor and map the developments and activities in and around the EU institutions on various topics linked to biomanufacturing
- Support biomanufacturing activities mapping across EuropaBio
- Assist in researching and drafting documents
- Assist with meeting organisation and assist with the drafting of minutes
- Attend events/webinars and prepare briefing notes to summarise these for the Biomanufacturing Platform Manager
- Help with the preparation of internal and external communications materials and correspondence for the Biomanufacturing Platform

Terms and Conditions
You will be offered a paid professional integration agreement (convention immersion professionnelle) for a maximum of 6 months. Working hours are from 09:00 until 18:00, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour break for lunch. The intern will be entitled to 6 vacation days plus national bank holidays, as well as restaurant tickets.
